Savannah, GA, April 13, 2017 ó Thomas & Hutton (T&H) is pleased to announce its new Certified Remote UAV Pilots. Survey Party Chief, Brad Lariscy; Staff Surveyor, Cliff Wilson; and GIS Analyst, Preston Evans, both recently earned this certification. The Remote Pilot Certification is a requirement in order to fly drones legally and requires applicants to pass an FAA aeronautical knowledge exam. This exam tests knowledge in regulations relating to small unmanned aircraft, airspace classification and operating requirements, flight restrictions, aviation weather and its effects on small unmanned aircraft performance, emergency procedures, radio communication procedure, and more.

Brad Lariscy has over 10 years of experience and is a Survey Crew Party Chief for Thomas & Huttonís Savannah Survey team. He is also a Certified Survey Technician.

Cliff Wilson has been with Thomas & Huttonís Charleston Survey team for more than eleven years, having been recently promoted from Party Chief to Staff Surveyor. As a party chief, Cliff has been involved with numerous projects that utilized remote sensing technology, such as the Volvo Site, Santee Cooper Winyah Generating Station, as well as Shaw Air Force Base.

Preston Evans has two years of experience as a GIS Analyst and specializes in web-based GIS applications, mobile GIS, spatial data analysis, data acquisition, cartographic design, map standards creation and implementation, database design, data interoperability, data organization, data naming and storage conventions, image processing, and map series creation.
