Geospatial Visionary Lawrie Jordan to Discuss the Future of GIS and 3D Content

May 18, 2011 – Berkeley, CA – earthmine, a world leader in 3D street-level imagery, announced today that Esri Director of Imagery Lawrie Jordan will deliver the opening Keynote Address at the first annual earthmine Partner Conference, to be held in Berkeley, CA on July 7-8, 2011.  Jordan is a GIS and geospatial imagery pioneer and will discuss the impact of emerging 3D technologies and content on GIS.

“Lawrie is a true visionary in this space, having brought remote sensing to the market place and blended the boundaries between image content, analysis and GIS,” says Anthony Fassero, co-CEO of earthmine inc. “We’re excited to hear his thoughts and insight on the future of 3D content for GIS, and its potential to change the way people create, analyze and work with spatial data.”

As director of imagery for Esri, as well as special assistant to Esri President Jack Dangermond, Lawrie Jordan serves as an advocate for successful applications of all forms of imagery within the GIS enterprise, including environmental, civil and defense solutions. Jordan has more than 30 years of experience as a leader in the field of image processing and remote sensing, including a long-standing strategic partnership with Esri. He has been an advisor to numerous government organizations on current and future trends involving imagery and satellite programs.

The addition of Jordan’s keynote fills out the scheduled speaking slots at the earthmine Partner Conference. The conference will also include presentations from earthmine’s partners and end-users showcasing solutions across a variety of markets, and informal panel discussions on topics such as local search, mobility, asset management, transportation, utilities and augmented reality. The earthmine Partner Conference is for prospective, new and established partners of earthmine. Prospective partners and end users who would like to be qualified to attend the conference should submit this form to earthmine. Additional details on the conference and registration information can be found at www.earthmine.com/conference.
