Aurora, CO – July 26, 2010 – Merrick & Company (www.merrick.com) is providing light detection and ranging (lidar) and hyperspectral imaging services and products to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Joint Airborne Lidar Bathymetry Technical Center of eXpertise (JALBTCX), for the mapping of the southeastern U.S. coastline. The project is being completed under an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract awarded to Merrick in 2009. The coastline is being mapped in order to provide high resolution elevation and imagery data in support of the USACE National Coastal Mapping Program (NCMP). Data that will be collected includes lidar at a 1-meter nominal posting, 20-centimeter natural color imagery, and 1-meter VNIR Hyperspectral imagery.

The project entails 620 linear miles along the Southeastern U.S. Coastline with a 500-meter corridor following the coastline. The project acquisition began in late April, 2010 and all final deliverables will be completed by the end of August 2010.
