RAMPP to provide services for Risk MAP phase of the National Flood Insurance Program
August 5, 2009 – Fairfax, VA - Dewberry, a nationally recognized management, consulting, and professional services firm, has announced that Risk Assessment, Mapping, and Planning Partners (RAMPP), a joint venture of Dewberry, URS, and ESP, has been selected as one of three Production and Technical Services (PTS) contractors under the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Risk MAP phase of the National Flood Insurance Program. The $600 million contract over five years stipulates that RAMPP provide comprehensive floodplain mapping, GIS, and hazard risk mitigation services for FEMA to include specifically serving FEMA Regions II (New York City, New York), III (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), and VI (Denton, Texas).
RAMPP will be responsible for operating Regional Support Centers (RSCs) located near the FEMA regional offices, processing Letters of Map Correction, and providing production and technical services for flood insurance studies as well as digital flood insurance rate map production, studies, hazard risk assessment and mitigation planning, outreach, and other services. RAMPP will initially focus on completing tasks similar to FEMA’s Map Modernization program, as well as attending to priority needs such as levees and coastal analyses. Following this phase, RAMPP will assist FEMA with the implementation of Risk MAP, which will involve expanding the traditional flood mapping scope to include risk assessment and mitigation products.
