3001, the geospatial company® gathers a team of aerial data collection companies to collect aerial imagery over the U.S./Canada and Mexico borders.

August 12, 2008 - Fairfax, VA - 3001, Inc. today announced an award by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office of Customs and Border Protection (CPB) for the collection of aerial data over the U.S./Canada and Mexico borders.  For the vast expanse of this project, 3001 as prime contractor has assembled a large team of aerial data collection companies.  The 3001 Team will use their combined fleet of fifteen airborne sensors, including the Leica Airborne Digital Sensor and the Zeiss/Intergraph Digital Mapping Camera (DMC) for digital aerial data collection.

“We are pleased to be working with the best geospatial firms in the industry,” offered Bart Bailey, 3001 CEO.  “Not only is this the largest aerial data collection team in the history of the geospatial industry, many of these firms are our long-time partners and leaders in their particular field.  Our combined resources and experience will enable us to provide high quality data in an efficient and timely manner to NGA.”

3001 will supplement their large fleet of aircraft, sensors, and processing capacity with support from teammates, BAE Systems, Bohannan-Huston Inc., Continental Mapping Consultants (CMC), Fugro-Earthdata, GeoEye/M.J. Harden, Intergraph Services Corporation (ISC), Photo Science, and Woolpert, Inc.  “We are very proud NGA selected 3001 and our team for this project,” said Andy Dougherty, Vice President of Business Development for 3001.

3001 has experience bringing strong teams of geospatial firms together for large state and federal contracts.  In addition to this new contract, 3001 is also one of six prime contractors providing geospatial services for the NGA’s Global Geospatial Intelligence (GGI) program.  They are also a prime contractor to the U.S. Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Atlantic Area (NAVFAC) and are currently under contract to six U. S. Army Corps of Engineers districts.
