Robert Church leads shipwreck discussion at Houston Museum of Natural Science Print E-mail

Lafayette, Louisiana — Robert Church, senior marine archaeologist at C & C Technologies, Inc., will speak about new technologies and processes used to find deepwater shipwrecks Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. 

Church has led several deepwater expeditions, including the discovery and investigation of a German U-boat and several other WWII shipwrecks.  He led investigations of a number of nineteenth century sailing vessels and served as project manager and chief scientist for the U.S. Department of the Interior Minerals Management Service’s recent Deepwater Shipwreck Study in the Gulf of Mexico.

The presentation is part of the museum’s distinguished lecture series. Admission is $12 for museum members and $17 for nonmembers.
