RETTEW Welcomes Kazickas as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Print E-mail

Lancaster, Pa. – RETTEW, a comprehensive engineering, planning and environmental consulting firm serving the mid-Atlantic region, today announced that Al A. Kazickas, Jr., PE, has joined the firm as vice president (VP) and chief operating officer (COO).

“Al’s breadth of experience and professional contributions to the engineering industry will enhance RETTEW’s ability to improve the quality of life for the clients, communities and employees we serve,” said Mark P. Lauriello, PE, president, RETTEW. “On behalf of the entire firm, I welcome Al to RETTEW and look forward to working with him.” 

In his role as VP and COO at RETTEW, Kazickas is responsible for working with technical service area directors to ensure maximum efficiency of the firm’s day-to-day operations. Additionally, he will be actively involved in RETTEW’s business development activities, collaborating with other members of the firm’s leadership team to shape RETTEW’s strategic direction and guide the pursuit of its growth goals.

Kazickas brings to RETTEW 23 years of experience, much of which has included providing leadership and strategic direction at other engineering and consulting firms. In addition to having served as VP of two leading national engineering companies, he possesses an extensive background in overseeing transportation planning and engineering projects and is familiar with state transportation department planning and design procedures in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland and West Virginia. He is well versed in bringing together a wide variety of stakeholders and developing transportation solutions tailored to specific community needs.

A registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Kazickas is a member of the Institute of Transportation Engineers, American Council of Engineering Companies of Pennsylvania, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society of Highway Engineers, Women's Transportation Seminar and Society of American Military Engineers. He is also a member and past president of Intelligent Transportation Society of America, Pennsylvania chapter, and has been involved in Philadelphia’s chapter of March of Dimes, having previously served on the transportation committee. Kazickas earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Temple University. He resides in Buckingham, Bucks County, Pa.
