TopSURV 7: Field solution software that is user-friendly, easy to learn and use

Livermore, CA -- Topcon Positioning Systems (TPS) regularly announces field control software updates and enhancements. The unveiling of TopSURV 7 is different.
Topcon’s all-new, problem-solving software package utilizes a unique, large graphical and intuitive user interface. TopSURV 7 features map view data collection, graphical stakeout, conveniently stores configurations and is available for Windows PC or CE Mobile systems.
Large, easy-to-understand icons (survey, edit, import, export and view map, among other functions) dominate the bright display. Meshed with Topcon’s new FC-2200 controller, TopSURV 7 is housed in a rugged handheld controller with alphanumeric keyboard and built-in, high-resolution camera.
Scott Langbein, TPS product marketing manager, said, “It’s now possible to survey with speed, convenience and absolute accuracy. A surveyor can create, edit, upload and download data faster than ever before using advanced data management technology.”
He also said that regardless of how many instruments a surveyor might use, TopSURV 7 stores configuration files for every Topcon instrument. “In other words, switching from a Legacy E to a GPT-3100W is fast and simple. There’s no wasted time configuring baud rates or connection settings,” he said.
“The bottom line is that you can get to work quicker, perform more functions and save time. TopSURV 7 simplifies surveying.”
Redesigned from the ground up, TopSURV 7 is not just an upgrade, Langbein said. “It’s a whole new experience from field to finish. From its all-new, super-efficient database engine to its near-universal exporting abilities, TopSURV 7 delivers the power to simplify and speed your data collection and delivery.”
The new database engine “has cut file size by an amazing 60 percent,” Langbein said. “Its new graphical user interface and intuitive operation create a user-friendly environment. Icon driven, with no more than four clicks to get to any operation, TopSURV 7 is easy to learn and easier to use.”
He said TopSURV 7 supports all major file formats and “lets the user visually create custom codes and ordering to ensure a perfect transfer every time.”
