Acquisition to Localize Software Applications for the European Survey and Data Collection Markets

Sunnyvale, Calif., Jan. 22, 2008 – Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) announced today that it has acquired privately-held HHK Datentechnik GmbH of Braunschweig, Germany, a provider of customized office and field software solutions for the cadastral survey market in Germany. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The addition of HHK software resources and expertise enables Trimble to further address local application requirements and provide customized survey solutions across Germany and in Europe.

“The acquisition of HHK continues to reinforce our goal of providing complete survey solutions and our commitment to meet the unique needs of the European market. HHK’s strength lies in its ability to customize German survey software applications and provide users with intuitive work processes for optimal efficiency and productivity in the field and office,” said Jürgen Kliem, general manager of Trimble’s Survey Division.  “Over the last several years we have seen significant growth in Europe for our survey solutions and this acquisition, coupled with our other strategic initiatives, contributes to our efforts to maintain our growth trajectory.”

“As engineers we are fascinated by Trimble’s modern technologies,” said Mr. Bernd Hartwig, president of HHK Datentechnik. “Using the best technology and having a strong partner is the best foundation to serve the changing local and global markets for the future. The globalization process will not stop, so joining a worldwide operating company is ideal to make us even stronger than before which will benefit all our existing customers.”

HHK’s management and staff will join Trimble’s Survey Division as part of the Engineering and Construction segment.
