Precision Laser Measuring Technology That Fits In A Pocket
Mount Prospect, Ill., June 1, 2007 – Today, Bosch Power Tools and Accessories announced the launch of the rugged new DLR165 Laser Rangefinder. This innovative new device utilizes precision laser technology to measure distance up to 165 feet (50 meters) and offers multiple dynamic measuring functions for a broad array of applications.
The new Bosch Laser Rangefinder is the world’s smallest and easily fits into a pocket, measuring only 4-inches tall by 2-1/4-inches wide. Estimators, architects, interior designers, carpenters, contractors and more will appreciate the ability to take one-person precision laser measurements, especially in normally hard-to-reach locations. This saves time and enhances field capabilities. Furthermore, accuracy is especially impressive, normally within 1/16-inch and measurements can be taken in decimal feet, feet and inches, and metric.
Unlike ultrasonic measuring devices, the Laser Rangefinder uses laser technology not only to locate the targeted measurement point but also to take precise measurements. To provide maximum flexibility in measuring, the Laser Rangefinder also offers the capability to take measurements from four different reference points. With the push of a button on the intuitive keypad, users simply select the desired location: the front or back of the tool, the tripod mount on its underside, or the built-in swing-out extension pin for hard-to-reach locations, such as when measuring from corner to corner to check squareness.
The device is also multi-functional, with modes to calculate distance, area, volume and indirect remote distances utilizing the Pythagorean Theorem (a2 + b2 = c2). Additional functionality includes a continuous measurement mode in which the measurement automatically adjusts as the device moves. This is particularly useful for walking-off distances. A memory function with addition and subtraction capabilities also enhances the device.
A rugged design, soft-grip exterior for better grip and water resistance to IP54 requirements make the device jobsite-ready anytime and anywhere.
The complete Bosch DLR165K Laser Rangefinder Kit includes four ‘AAA’ batteries that will typically power 30,000 measurements, a convenient hand strap and soft carrying case with a belt loop.
