Detroit, MI (November 8, 2007) - - Spalding DeDecker Associates, Inc. (SDA), a regional civil engineering and surveying firm, recently hired Joseph Muller, PE to head their National Land Development Program.
Mr. Muller comes to SDA with thirty-five years of experience in the civil engineering industry including national pavement management programs, storm water management, road design, survey, and geotechnical. He will be responsible for managing and expanding SDA’s National Land Development Program where the focus will be serving clients across the United States. Mr. Muller graduated from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Joe is currently licensed as a Professional Engineer in Michigan, Ohio, Arizona, South Carolina, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
Joe has over thirty-five years of experience in site development, consulting civil engineering, and construction quality control. His career consists of a progression of responsibilities including: soils laboratory testing; inspection of borings and performing construction quality control; analyzing, designing and supervising office and earthwork operations for major commercial and industrial projects nationwide; developing specifications for a wide range of projects in varying soil conditions; preparing cost estimates, proposals, budgets, and construction documents; project setup / overseeing project managers; and serving as an expert witness regarding extensive building and site related failures.
For the past 12 years, Joe managed the day to day operations and rapid expansion of a very successful nationally recognized firm as President and CEO. He also set up and managed 2 branch offices offering mirrored services. It is well known that his ability to develop land development related services and strategies are necessary for a growing civil engineering firm to strengthen in an uncertain local economy.
