James Edward Inkster, 72, passed away on October 5, 2007, at Kirby Pines Manor in Memphis, TN. He was born in 1935 in Jackson, MS. He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Lucy; two sons, Don and John; a daughter, Anne; two brothers, William and Arthur; and 11 grandchildren. Jim was a veteran of the U.S .Navy and a civil engineering graduate of Mississippi State University. Jim, employed by Schonstedt Instrument Company for many years (and prior to that, General Supply and Forestry Suppliers), was a friendly and familiar face to many surveyors while attending national and state surveying conventions across the country.
