Leipzig, Germany, Sept. 25, 2007 -- Spectra Precision announced today the worldwide availability of its FOCUS® and EPOCH™ product portfolios. Until today, the products were only available in select geographical regions.
Spectra Precision also expanded its product lines with the introduction of the FOCUS 4 Mechanical Total Station (right), FOCUS 5 Mechanical Total Station and EPOCH 25 Static only L1/L2 Global Positioning System (GPS) system and EPOCH 25 RTK L1/L2 GPS system.
The announcement was made today at INTERGEO 2007, the world’s largest conference on geodesy, geoinformatics and land management.
The Spectra Precision® FOCUS 4 is a quality 7” mechanical total station that delivers convenience and affordability to surveyors. The new mechanical total station offers an easy-to-use interface ideal for survey construction and basic topographical applications.
The Spectra Precision FOCUS 5 (left) is a high-precision mechanical total station with Bluetooth® capabilities. Using an innovative detachable Spectra Precision Recon® data collector, the onboard interface allows the system to use a Windows® Mobile® touch-screen operating system. Available as a 2” or 3” angle accuracy model, the FOCUS 5 mechanical total station offers surveyors an easy-to-use measurement solution ideal for everyday surveying needs.
Spectra Precision EPOCH 25 L1/L2 Static and RTK systems include a high-accuracy GPS receiver for cadastral, topographic, control, stakeout and other precision survey applications. The EPOCH 25 systems offer the performance and reliability of an advanced survey-grade system, while remaining an extremely cost-effective investment.
With fast, reliable initialization, the EPOCH 25 systems are measurement solutions providing high-quality results in several survey modes including post processed-kinematic and static. The systems operate without line-of-sight between points, and can be used in any weather. Back at the office, surveyors can use the Spectra Precision Office Software for postprocessing and quality control.
The Spectra Precision EPOCH 25 Static only L1/L2 GPS system (right) is ideal for surveyors who need long-range static observations allowing baseline lengths of up to 100 kilometers (60 miles). This functionality enables users to bring survey control from farther distances to their local site.
The system provides a complete high-performance GPS solution to the mainstream surveyor. The Spectra Precision EPOCH 25 RTK system includes a L1/L2 GPS base receiver; a L1/L2 GPS rover including internal radio modem and battery; field software that operates on the Spectra Precision Recon data collector; and a base radio modem that provides a long-range data link from the base to the rover for RTK surveying.
Designed as multi-purpose modular systems, the Spectra Precision EPOCH 25 provides surveyors with total flexibility. The GPS antenna and GPS receiver can be used as an integrated or a separate system to meet the requirements of a variety of applications. Designed for tough surveying conditions, the compact and lightweight EPOCH 25 systems handle drops, extreme temperatures, dirt, and water, making it one of the toughest L1/L2 GPS solutions available.
