SELLS Announces 2 New Key Hires

July 25, 2007 (Hamilton, NJ) – Chas. H. Sells, Inc. (SELLS) announced today that John Araneo, P.E., C.M.E., has joined SELLS Hamilton, New Jersey office as the local Director of Transportation Infrastructure and Facilities.
Araneo has more than 30 years of experience in the management, the preparation of preliminary studies, and final design and has provided construction support of major reconstruction transportation projects during the construction phase of the project. Many of these projects required development of complex construction staging and traffic control plans. His project experience include mass transit, cut and cover, rail stations and tunnels structures; roadway interchanges and highway bridges; hi-rise buildings, subway car repair shops and warehouses; waterfront facilities such as ferry terminals and piers; baseball stadiums and ports coal facility bulk material handling system. He has also performed structural integrity inspections for existing bridge structures, marine structures and parking garage structures.
Araneo is also a certified municipal engineer. He is familiar with several municipal ordinances and the municipal land use law, as well as the New Jersey Residential Site Improvement Standards, American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, New Jersey Stormwater regulations and the NJ Department of Transportation design standards.
Araneo received his BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland, his MS in Structural Engineering from the NJ Institute of Technology, and his MBA in Management & Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Araneo is past vice president of the NJ ASCE Branch and past secretary of the NJ Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, NJSPE co-chair of the legislative committee and has been appointed by the Mayor of Metuchen to the traffic and transportation commission.
SELLS also announced that John M. Hale, P.L.S. has joined the SELLS team as Survey Department Manager and will work out of SELLS’ Hamilton, New Jersey office.
Hale is an accomplished land surveyor with a solid background in boundary and topographic surveys, aerial control, environmental mapping, parcel and right-of-way mapping, minor & major subdivision plots, engineering base mapping for site plans, boundary surveys, ALTA/ACSM surveys, GPS data reduction and control networks.
Hale has headed and managed various survey projects, ranging from U.S. military bases in New York and New Jersey, natural gas pipelines, construction surveys of planned developments, boundary and title surveys of properties ranging from building lots to several hundred acres, and underground utility locations for NY-NJ Port Authority operations at Newark and JFK airports, among others. His supervision of projects includes: research, fieldwork, survey calculations, deed/boundary line analysis and determination, CAD drafting, setting of property corners, mapping, and legal descriptions.
Hale is a licensed Professional Land Surveyor in the state of New Jersey and New York and is a licensed Professional Planner in the state of New Jersey. He received his Associates Degree in Applied Science from Paul Smith’s College and is a member of the NJ Society of Professional Land Surveyors, New York Association of Professional Land Surveyors, American Congress on Surveying and Mapping, and the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Land Surveying
