Network corrected real-time is a technological approach to high precision GPS/ GNSS positioning that has been theorized about, studied, experimented with, and implemented in various academic, scientific, and commercial forms for nearly a decade. Many of the various approaches share the fruits of past research, algorithms, and technological tools; some which are in common.

Norcross, GA -- Today Leica Geosystems announces IMAGINE InSAR, greatly enhancing the ERDAS IMAGINE® Radar Mapping Suite 9.1.
Leica Geosystems has developed a strategic relationship with the Remote Sensing Technology Institute of the German Aerospace Center (DLR), the world’s leading radar experts, to create new capabilities for Leica Geosystems’ radar mapping software suite. Previously known as IMAGINE IFSAR DEM, the new release of IMAGINE InSAR provides a more robust extraction process, increasing the accuracy of digital elevation models (DEMs).
“Leica Geosystems is continuing its commitment to radar mapping by providing state of the art remote sensing technologies,” said Bob Morris, President and CEO of Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging. “DLR’s proven track record in operational SAR applications makes them the ideal partner to provide our customers the leading radar mapping software suite in the world.”
IMAGINE InSAR is specifically beneficial when mapping in perennially cloud-covered areas such as equatorial, coastal and temperate mountainous regions. Radar has the ability to see through clouds, allowing the surface of the earth to be mapped while being obscured with clouds. With IMAGINE InSAR, the user community can easily map terrain in remote areas of the world where aerial photography and Lidar cannot be captured.
