Network corrected real-time is a technological approach to high precision GPS/ GNSS positioning that has been theorized about, studied, experimented with, and implemented in various academic, scientific, and commercial forms for nearly a decade. Many of the various approaches share the fruits of past research, algorithms, and technological tools; some which are in common.

UK, Netherlands oppose further public funding for Galileo satellites

Frankfurt, Germany (Thomson Financial) - The UK and the Netherlands oppose using additional public funds to pay for the Galileo satellite navigation system, the two nations wrote in a joint communique obtained by Handelsblatt.
The document says that further public funding will likely raise the costs of Galileo in the future and that it also creates the risk that the EU will spend more money than is available in its budget.
In addition, they warn that increasing spending on Galileo will put other projects at risk.
Galileo is being developed by a consortium that includes EADS, Alcatel-Lucent, Thales, Inmarsat and Finmeccanica SpA.
