Campbell, California - June 1st 2007 - ArWest Communications Corporation, an emerging company in the field of Narrow Band Radios, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Topcon Positions Systems to provide 1 Watt UHF transceivers integrated within the Topcon GR-3 triple constellation RTK Satellite Receiver.
The initial award involves the delivery of several thousand radios by September 2007. This award includes the provision of an OEM Module complete with UHF/BlueTooth/Cell Phone (European and US GSM) and higher power Base Stations. Since its inception, ArWest has been working alongside many leading manufacturers to provide them with OEM products or to integrate ArWest products into their systems.
“This expands the many blue-chip companies who work right alongside ArWest,” said Barrie Hogarth, ArWest VP Sales and Marketing. The selection of ArWest radio modems follows some nine months of testing and evaluation by Topcon.
State-of-the-Art Narrow Band radio modems ArWest designers have applied advanced technology components and implemented the most unique, cost effective and expandable DSP based narrow-band software intensive (“Soft”) radio modem. Plug-and-Play design provides self tuning and calibration, maximum performance, unmatched long distance coverage and robust enough to withstand adverse conditions. They provides a high-speed Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint wireless data transfer at up to 38.4 kbps. AWare software supports user selectable modulation techniques allowing the user to achieve the highest data speed for a given range (up to 50 miles). They also include selectable forward error corrections, which improve radio modem performance under interference, multipath and other intense environmental conditions.
Thomas Chanian, ArWest president and CEO said that “The ArWest AlphaWave family products are manufactured based on their reliability, security, manageability, scalability and future expandability without any hardware change. The AlphaWave can be installed practically anywhere in the world—with the lowest possible cost of ownership.”
ArWest is actively seeking Distributors to take the AW products to the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) market.
