Tri-Global Technologies Honored as Business Partner of the Year by Trimble Mapping & GIS Division Print E-mail

Tuesday, 22 May 2007

Athens, GA, 22 May 2007 – Tri-Global Technologies LLC received the Business Partner of the Year Award at the 2007 Trimble Mapping & GIS North American Partners Conference held last month in Denver. Trimble also honored Tri-Global Technologies with two additional awards for Marketing Excellence and Outstanding Sales Growth.

“Tri-Global Technologies is one of our premier Business Partners in North America offering geospatial services and customized software solutions,” said Chad Hall, National Sales Manager for Trimble Mapping & GIS Division. “They are well deserving of these three awards.”

Located in Athens, Ga., with offices in Houston and San Antonio, Texas, Tri-Global Technologies provides innovative GPS/GIS field solutions, software engineering and development, customized training, and data collection services. Tri-Global specializes in offering these solutions to the oil & gas, utility, pipeline, transportation and public works industries.

Tri-Global Technologies received the Business Partner of the Year honor from Trimble in recognition of its development of two innovative field mapping solutions – UtiliMapper and BarcodeMapper – based on Trimble mobile GIS technology. In addition, the firm received the Marketing Excellence Award for its use of seminars to introduce new technologies to end users. And the Outstanding Sales Growth Award acknowledged Tri-Global’s 500 percent increase in overall sales from 2005 to 2006.

“Resources made available to us through Trimble’s Business Partner channel have allowed us to focus on providing customized GPS field solutions, yielding a greater return on investment for our clients,” said Dennis Heath, Tri-Global Technologies Managing Partner.

The UtiliMapper software suite establishes direct communication between Trimble GPS field data collectors and Radiodetection locators used to find underground pipelines. Deployed extensively in pipeline management, public works, and utility applications, UtiliMapper enables users to effortlessly collect utility location data for mapping and integrity modeling.

“Introduction of the Trimble H-Star technology, which provides sub-foot accuracy in mobile GIS and handheld GPS devices, has opened a new realm of high-accuracy mapping that our clients have desired for years,” said Michael Bellrose, Tri-Global Technologies Managing Partner. “This Trimble technology – combined with our ability to provide completely tailored applications to meet our clients’ needs – has contributed to our successful introduction of new solutions in recent years.”

The second innovative product introduced last year, Tri-Global BarcodeMapper establishes a wireless connection between Trimble GPS devices and the Baracoda Roadrunner barcode scanners, allowing for quick scanning of asset serial numbers in the field to build or update location-based GIS inventories. BarcodeMapper has been embraced by utility and public works field crews to facilitate the maintenance of GIS-related asset databases.
