Toronto March 20: Optech Incorporated announces the delivery of its ALTM 3100EA to Southern Mapping Company of South Africa.
The world’s most advanced laser scanner, the ALTM 3100EA is the ideal solution for large-scale mapping as it enables the collection of 3D data. The system offers its operator flexibility and ease unmatched by any other system.
“Southern Mapping plays a major role in the Africa Renaissance. With its new ALTM it can move swiftly from country to country, and do extremely quick surveys, delivering the results in record time. This is what Africa wants, Africans taking the lead in Africa’s development,” said SMC’s President Peter Moir.
"We continue to see great potential for airborne lidar surveying services in the African region and have maintained a strong presence here for quite a long time not only because of this vision, but also because of our relationship with many key customers in this mapping community,” says Don Carswell, President of Optech Incorporated. "Our continuing relationship with Southern Mapping is an excellent example of a visionary entrepreneurial force embracing world-leading technology to provide critical services within the area, and we're very confident that Southern Mapping will continue to be a leader in the lidar surveying field for many years to come."
Southern Mapping integrated its Rollei 39-Megapixel camera with the new ALTM to take advantage of the system’s full capabilities.
