Carlson Software Names New Director of Marketing and Public Relations

Karen Cummings has joined Carlson Software Inc. as director of Marketing and Public Relations. This position was recently created due to the more than 30 percent annual growth of Carlson Software over the past three years.
Cummings brings to Carlson more than 20 years of experience in writing, marketing, and public relations, most recently serving as the associate director of Media Relations for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Mass. As part of her role at Dana-Farber, Cummings was responsible for the advertising and publicity for its charitable arm, the Jimmy Fund, an official charity of the Boston Red Sox and the most well known and popular charity in New England. This included planning, executing, and overseeing the publicity efforts for the more than 300 events that benefit the Jimmy Fund annually. In 2006, the Jimmy Fund raised more than $55 million for Dana-Farber.
