Network corrected real-time is a technological approach to high precision GPS/ GNSS positioning that has been theorized about, studied, experimented with, and implemented in various academic, scientific, and commercial forms for nearly a decade. Many of the various approaches share the fruits of past research, algorithms, and technological tools; some which are in common.

Spectra Precision Introduces EPOCH 25 RTK GPS System Print E-mail

Cost-effective L1/L2 GPS System Includes Advanced Base Station, Rover, Data Collector, Radio

St. Louis, March 10, 2007 -- Spectra Precision today introduced the EPOCH™ 25 RTK GPS system for the U.S. survey market. The Spectra Precision® EPOCH 25 GPS system includes highly accurate Global Positioning System (GPS) technology for cadastral, topographic, control, stakeout and other precision survey applications. The EPOCH 25 offers the performance and reliability of an advanced survey-grade system, while remaining an extremely cost-effective investment.

The EPOCH 25 RTK system was introduced at the 2007 American Congress of Surveying and Mapping (ACSM).

The EPOCH 25 is a complete turnkey RTK GPS system that includes a base station, rover, field software, data collector, and radio. The EPOCH 25 GPS rover features an integrated internal radio modem and battery. The system also features TDS Survey Pro, a premiere field software that operates on the Ranger or Recon data collectors. For RTK surveying, the system also includes a base station radio modem that provides a long- or short-range data link from the base to the rover. Back at the office, surveyors can use the Spectra Precision Office Software for postprocessing and quality control.

"We are excited to release the EPOCH 25 system in the U.S. with TDS Survey Pro," said Matt Delano, business manager for Spectra Precision surveying. "The EPOCH 25 is a powerful and cost effective solution for the large base of customers using Survey Pro field software today. With Survey Pro, both new GPS users, and users of existing sensors, can achieve immediate results with virtually no learning curve."

With fast, reliable initialization, the EPOCH 25 system is a measurement solution that can provide high-quality results in several survey modes including RTK and Static. The system operates without line-of-sight between points, and can be used in any weather.

Designed as a multi-purpose modular system, the EPOCH 25 system provides surveyors with total flexibility. It can be used as a completely integrated system or as a separate system with components to meet the requirements of a variety of applications. Designed especially for tough surveying conditions, the compact and lightweight EPOCH 25 system handles drops, extreme temperatures, dirt, and water, making it one of the toughest L1/L2 GPS solutions available.

Availability
The EPOCH 25 GPS system is expected to be available late March of 2007 through select Tripod Data Systems (TDS) dealers in the U.S. For more information, email inquires to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call TDS at 541-753-9322.
