Phoenix, AZ (Nov. 29, 2006) – AirPhotoUSA, a GlobeXplorer® company and a leading provider of affordable, pre-packaged aerial information solutions, announced today a major-market update featuring high-resolution, one-foot pixel imagery of the Eastern United States.
AirPhotoUSA (APU) has finished acquiring more than 40,000 square miles of seamless aerial imagery for Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Rhode Island. The project is part of APU’s extensive new acquisition program that will provide nationwide coverage at one-foot pixel resolution.
New England regional coverage for Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine is scheduled for spring 2007. The release status for each market will be posted at www.airphotousa.com.
“AirPhotoUSA has a nine-year history of innovation, consistently setting new standards for coverage, and image resolution,” commented Rob Shanks, president of GlobeXplorer and AirPhotoUSA. “The move to one-foot GSD (ground sample distance) imagery is a continuation of that tradition and will help feed the demand created by aerial content’s widespread use on the Internet.”
The imagery ships with PhotoMapper®, AirPhotoUSA’s exclusive viewing, annotation and export software, and MapHandler plug-ins for active image integration with GIS. In addition, imagery can be supplied in almost any requested format and map projection.
This imagery will also be offered through GlobeXplorer’s suite of Web services, online viewers, and developer application program interfaces (APIs), making its data the most accessible in the industry today.
