Efficient Software Delivers Accurate Information to the Middle East

Norcross, Georgia, USA – March 23, 2006 – Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging is roud to announce its participation in the Map Middle East 2006 International Conference and Exhibition. As a key exhibitor, Leica Geosystems will showcase several of its recently released products, including ERDAS IMAGINE® V9.0, Leica Photogrammetry Suite™ V9.0 and Leica Virtual Explorer™ V3.0.

Mark Carhart, Leica Geosystems’ International Defense Solutions Manager, will present an overview of key Geospatial Imaging market trends influencing the company's software products and direction in the coming years in a key address at the conference.

"We are pleased to support Map Middle East, as it fosters the professional development of geospatial information professionals throughout the region,” commented Kaushik Chakraborty, Sales Director for EMEA and India, Leica Geosystems Geospatial Imaging. “Leica Geosystems and its partners are committed to provide the most accurate and efficient solutions to government and defense, as well as others involved in the burgeoning Middle East image exploitation market.”

This latest version of ERDAS IMAGINE further integrates powerful image processing functionality with geospatial information technology enabling analysts to turn imagery into information. ERDAS IMAGINE V9.0 marks the availability of IMAGINE AutoSync, which enables rapid georeferencing of images using automatically-generated tie points from an existing reference image.

Leica Photogrammetry Suite V9.0 provides efficient and productive tools for start-to-finish photogrammetric processing, and includes a new mosaicking module. MosaicPro offers a highly effective seam editing technique, a new radiometric adjustment method, and several other features that can be used for reducing project time when working on large projects.

Developed to facilitate collaborative decision making, Leica Virtual Explorer empowers stakeholders to demonstrate 3D spatial relationships, driving awareness of project logistics while increasing efficiency and effectiveness. With Leica Virtual Explorer, organizations in an array of markets can build on the Leica Geosystems’ 3D architecture, leveraging and streamlining the use of their GIS data to increase spatial communication and geospatial understanding.

Map Middle East 2006 is from 26 March to 29 March 2006 at the Dubai World Trade Center, Dubai, UAE. For further details, visit http://www.mapmiddleeast.org/2006/index.htm
