New Tool Takes Guessing Out of the Equation

Naperville, IL - October 13, 2005 - The C. H. Hanson Company has introduced SpeedMeter™, a new electronic measuring wheel, which is available in 4 inch and 13 inch wheel sizes to accommodate almost any industry requiring exact measurements.

Both the 4” and 13” models feature a large LCD display that are easier to read due to its generous digital readout when compared to traditional mechanical units (13mm vs. 5mm) with a selectable on/off backlight, an electronic brake that holds the measurement until reset, and a telescoping handle to adjust for multiple users and facilitate storage.

The electronic measuring units can measure up to 10,000 feet/inches, 10,000 yards/tenths, or 10,000 meters/centimeters. One touch button will convert any measurement. When moving forward, the unit adds the distance and will subtract when operated in reverse, measures trip distance, and calculates total distance.

Construction and accuracy are of the highest quality. Both models are 99.9% accurate and are sealed to IP65/NEMA 4 specifications, which means the electronic measuring housing is totally protected from dust and can withstand low-pressure jets of water from all directions without letting water into the housing.

The 4” model is ideal for indoor applications, including, carpet, tile, and flooring installers, interior designers and real estate agents or real estate appraisers and features dual wheel design for added stability. This very lightweight, one-pound unit extends to 39” inches for comfortable measuring and collapses to 21” inches for easy storage.

The 13" model is better suited for outdoor conditions and features a pistol grip for added comfort over longer distances, a collapsible kickstand, and weighs only 2 ½ pounds. SpeedMeter's sturdy design, unmatched accuracy, and resistance to the elements makes it the perfect tool for contractors, asphalt, concrete, or paving installers, land surveyors, property estimators, landscapers, law enforcement accident investigators or any professional that requires precise measurements.
