Add-On Tool Delivers the Capabilities of IMAGINE VirtualGIS via the Web

Atlanta - Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping, LLC today announced the availability of IMAGINE Virtual Delivery. This new add-on product extends the capabilities of IMAGINE VirtualGIS across the Web, expanding the reach of the desktop 3D scene generation and viewing tool by converting IMAGINE VirtualGIS scenes and accompanying data into a Web-optimized format.

This latest addition to IMAGINE VirtualGIS is a natural extension to the easy-to-learn, easy-to-use and comprehensive application for processing accurate GIS imagery. IMAGINE Virtual Delivery brings the powerful 3D visualization and analysis capabilities to users worldwide without the need to purchase expensive desktop software. Browser-based clients can view published 3D scenes in a fully customizable browser interface, without acquiring additional software.

IMAGINE Virtual Delivery is available in three tiers – Personal, Departmental, and Enterprise – designed to meet the needs of any organization. Capabilities unique to IMAGINE Virtual Delivery include:

• Real-time, interactive Web browsing of geographical relationships and large-scale 3D visualization.

• GIS layer support to enable the creation of scenes using Digital Elevation Models, draped rasters and vectors, annotation layers and other elements.

• Tools which facilitate the exploration and analysis of geospatial data such as navigation with mouse or keyboard, overview map detailing camera position and orientation, distance measurements along 3D surface, custom animations, and automatically predefined “fly to” points.

“IMAGINE Virtual Delivery allows our customers to share information about the real world,” said Ian Anderson, Geographic Imaging senior Product Manager for Leica Geosystems GIS & Mapping. “By extending the comprehensive tools of IMAGINE VirtualGIS, we are facilitating the exchange of data in a way that is convenient, cost effective and functional for users at any size organization.”
