PRIA Announces Publication of GIS and Land Records Integration White Paper Print E-mail
Written by Property Records Industry Association
Tuesday, 20 March 2018

Raleigh, N.C. – The Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) announces the release of its latest white paper on GIS and Land Records Integration. Although Geographic Information System (GIS) is a relatively new tool for anyone interested in land records, the recording of property records has been in existence since records were created. The integration of these two systems can help to create modern property record systems.

According to Mark Ladd, vice president of Regulatory and Industry Affairs at Simplifile, and president of PRIA, “This paper has been several years in development but is being released just as interest in the integration of land records and GIS is gaining momentum with both GIS specialists, county recorders and their business partners.”

David Rooney, assistant comptroller, Orange Co., Fla., co-chair of PRIA’s GIS work project, observed, “PRIA strives to provide its members with the background and information they need to make sound business decisions for their organizations. This white paper is designed to help members understand the value of integration of GIS and land records and provide tools for operational support of that integration. ”

About PRIA
PRIA develops and promotes national standards and best practices for the property recording industry by identifying appropriate opportunities for collaboration among industry stakeholders; developing recommendations for standards and best practices; encouraging and supporting the adoption of such standards and practices; providing a clearinghouse for property-records-related information; and educating members, stakeholders and the public about the property records industry. For more information on PRIA, visit www.pria.us.
