National Firm Expands Engineering Services in Fort Myers Print E-mail
Written by McKim & Creed
Wednesday, 10 August 2016

Fort Myers—McKim & Creed, Inc., a national engineering, geomatics and planning firm, is expanding its services in the Fort Myers area to include water and wastewater engineering. Leading the expansion is Thomas Pugh, PE, who serves as regional engineering manager with McKim & Creed.

Pugh has nearly 30 years’ experience providing water and wastewater engineering, wastewater treatment plant operation and inspection services in and around Fort Myers and southwest Florida. As regional engineering manager with McKim & Creed, he oversees all aspects of project activity with a primary focus on municipal water, wastewater and water resources. He also monitors quality control systems and maintains key client relationships.

McKim & Creed established its Fort Myers office in 2004, and has developed a reputation for providing high-quality geomatics services. The local office is located in the Billy Creek Commerce Center.

Prior to joining McKim & Creed, Pugh served as senior utility project manager / practice builder with Kimley-Horn and Associates. Local and regional projects he has been involved with include sludge production review for the City of Naples’ 30-mgd lime softening water treatment plant, Osprey Avenue Phase II utility improvements for the City of Sarasota, reuse main extensions for the City of Fort Myers, and water and force main pipeline extensions, as well as wastewater treatment plant permit renewals, for Lee County.

“We are so pleased to have Tom guide our expansion in the Fort Myers area,” says Robert Garland, PE, PG, ENV SP, regional manager with McKim & Creed. “Tom brings a wealth of local and regional knowledge in the water and wastewater industry, and is a professional engineer, a licensed Class C wastewater treatment operator, and is NASSCO certified in pipeline and manhole assessments. His experience and expertise will serve our southwest Florida clients very well.”

Pugh is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in civil engineering. He has been a member of the Southwest Florida Branch of the American Public Works Association since 1998, having served as chair, vice chair, district representative, and state chapter bylaws committee chair. He is also a member of the Peace River Engineering Society, Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association, Florida Engineering Society, National Society of Professional Engineers, and the Florida Water Environment Association.
