DataLogic Receives Initial Purchase Order From Enigma Vehicle Systems for 150 GPS Tracking Units
Written by DataLogic
Friday, 21 May 2004
IRVINE, Calif., May 20 DataLogic International, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DLGI; Berlin, Frankfurt Stock Exchange: 779612), today announced that it has received an initial purchase order from Enigma Vehicle Systems, a UK based company, for 150 GPS tracking devices.
DataLogic's GPS tracking devices, known as Panther, are available in both GSM (900, 1800, and 1900 MHz) and CDMA (800 and 1900 MHz) modes. The devices are designed for tracking mobile assets within any wireless cellular network worldwide. The devices are also available in compact weatherproof and rugged form factor for field installations.
Enigma plans to install the standard devices to track cargo trucks and the weatherproof, rugged devices for expensive rental plant equipment. The trucks will be traveling across Europe and the tracking devices will be covered by Vodafone's GSM/GPRS network. As a follow up, Enigma intends to purchase an additional 1,000 units by early Q3.
"This order resulted from our brief working sessions with Enigma. It proves that our product is highly reliable and easy to integrate," commented Keith Nguyen, DataLogic's president. "We are making steady progress in building our sales pipeline for Panther. We are delivering custom solutions to meet our clients' requirements and expect to have these resulted in purchase orders soon," added Nguyen.
