Key Owner Operators will address how they are ‘Crossing the Information Chasm’
Calgary, AB, Canada – 21 November 2012: AVEVA announced today that it is hosting a series of round table events for Owner Operators in the Oil & Gas industry, during the first week of December at the Calgary Petroleum Club. Each round table will look at the laborious and costly challenge of keeping engineering data and operational information relevant, correct and compliant with industry standards. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss how ‘Crossing the Information Chasm’ is essential for more efficient plant engineering from design through to operations, and the resources required to make bridging the chasm a reality.
Key Owner Operators, both conventional and unconventional producers, will kick off each round table discussion by highlighting how they have addressed the challenge in populating their Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution and the strategies currently in use to ‘Cross the Information Chasm’.
“Populating an EAM system can be very labour-intensive and costly”, said William Muldoon, Executive Vice President-North America, AVEVA. “Many challenges face the Owner Operator community in achieving this. Engineering information is supplied in a variety of data and document formats, and stored across a range of disconnected ‘information silos’, making it extremely difficult to manage and understand the integrity of the data.
“In addition to sharing general experiences with this important challenge, Owner Operator’s will also explain the role that AVEVA’s Information Management software plays in their unique solution. AVEVA technology is helping these Owner Operators to collect, validate, visualize and then push this managed information directly into an EAM tool of their choice. We embrace an open approach so that companies don’t have to wait years after start-up to gain full control of their asset information. They need to ‘Be Operational Ready!’”
The dates for the upcoming events are:
• Round Table Breakfast - Tuesday, December 4th - 7:30am – 8:30am
• Round Table Networking Reception - Wednesday, December 5th – 4.30pm
• Round Table Lunch - Thursday, December 6th - 12:00pm – 1:00pm
