15 November 2012 (The Hague, The Netherlands) – SPAR Point Group announced today that verified attendance at SPAR Europe Conference on End-to-End 3D was 376, up 35% over the 2011 attendance figure. “We’re thrilled with the results of this year’s event,” said Lisa Murray, SPAR Point Group Director. “The impact of an additional 100 qualified 3D professionals was clearly felt on the busy exhibit floor and in the full conference session rooms.” The three-day conference had 65 presenters, three keynote addresses, two plenary sessions and an exhibit floor full of solutions by leading software developers and hardware manufacturers. SPAR Europe took place 12-14 November at the World Forum in The Hague.
Participants came from 38 countries for a three-day immersion into the latest trends on 3D data capture and imaging technologies. The conference program had five tracks – Industrial Facilities, Civil Transportation, Building & Architecture, New Technologies, Forensic & Security Planning, and Digital Cultural Preservation. Several sessions were standing-room only. Among the most popular were sessions that compared and contrasted 3D data capture methods, lidar vs. photogrammetry, indoor mobile mapping, BIM, new technologies and applications including augmented reality, handheld scanning, MS Kinect and more.
