Colorado – October 2012 – Merrick & Company (www.merrick.com), an international engineering, architecture, design-build, surveying, and geospatial solutions firm, has acquired the premier sustainability consulting firm, Energy Ace (www.energyace.com), of Decatur, GA; announced by Ralph Christie, Chair and CEO of Merrick. Energy Ace has served the sustainability world, guiding architects, engineers, construction managers, owners and developers to create and operate energy efficient environments since 2002. This acquisition provides Merrick with added talent in the realm of sustainable services as well as continuing the reach throughout the US in the firm’s focus markets of energy, sustainable infrastructure, life sciences, national security, and geospatial solutions.

“I’m excited to announce that Energy Ace is now a part of Merrick & Company,” said Ralph Christie, Chair, CEO. “Energy Ace has such as incredible reputation in sustainability and energy consulting. With this team of experts, Merrick will enhance its capability in sustainability, Net Zero design, and energy efficiency to provide our clients comprehensive design and commissioning solutions.”

“We are proud to announce that as of November 1, Energy Ace is a division of Merrick & Company,” said Wayne Robertson, PE, LEED AP, CxA, founder and principal. “Energy Ace’s personnel, brand and management team will remain in place, but now have the backing of a Top ENR firm with access to 500 technical professionals to offer greater resources to our existing clients and markets. We just celebrated our 10th anniversary, and are pleased to have the long-term stability of Merrick to help us continue growing our success in sustainability and energy conservation,” added Robertson.

With the addition of Energy Ace to the organization, Merrick will still maintain its 16 offices that serve clients in the energy, national security, life sciences, and sustainable infrastructure markets. Energy Ace will continue to operate from its LEED Gold and Green Globes certified office in Georgia.
