Job Description
Windrose GeoSpatial is a fast growing Geospatial business that is part of an established Land Surveying business headquartered in Austin, TX. Windrose has opportunities in the field of Utility distribution as a GPS/GIS Field Data Technician. The position involves travel and relocation to project site(s) throughout the US. Projects can last 2-3 months up to 2 years. Technicians will be trained on site to perform field data collection using prescribed technology, methodology and specifications. This is a contract to hire position and an excellent starting position into a GIS/GPS career, leading to project management roles & beyond. Compensation based on qualifications and experience. Qualifications
Valid driver’s license & clean driving record.
Willingness to travel and to work in all environments. 90% of work is outdoors.
A working knowledge of computers and GPS equipment along with the capacity to read maps; work independently while meeting production rates.
Demonstrated ability to analyze data, problem solve, prioritize and organize to achieve stated goal.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.
