We are looking for a Professional Land Surveyor who desires a challenging and demanding work experience with a solid company that offers excellent advancement opportunities. Our client operated in multiple markets for surveying on various types of projects, including Commercial, residential, industrial and municipal projects.
Due to diversification of the project groups, they now have a need to hire a group leader to head up their Municipal Projects Surveying Division.
The Land Surveyor/Group Manager will lead the division and lead a wide range of municipal projects for government agencies / municipalities and local government agencies. This requires a full understanding of municipal surveying expertise for projects(transportation, wastewater, tunneling, railways, etc..), as well as, possess the abilities to perform business development, develop budgets, scopes of work for clients.
In addition to overseeing the division, multiple projects and being responsible for communicating with clients, staff and field crews, and coordinating with public and private clients and contractors to deliver services timely and efficiently, the other duties and responsibilities will be to:
- Establish priorities and schedules for projects, field crews,staff and clients
- Provide quality assurance control and check and review all documents / maps.
- Interact cooperatively with survey professionals in offices throughout the Bay Area.
- Work directly with design engineers to prepare improvement plans.
- Oversee the completion of ALTA, topographic surveys, and field/office survey work.
- Draft and review legal descriptions.
- Supervise the preparation of parcel, record of survey, right-of-way maps, etc.
- Draft and review legal descriptions.
- Prepare lot line adjustments, and map and deed research.
- Prepare map checks, process field data and staking drawings for field crews.
- Check/prepare cut sheets.
Qualifications
All qualified candidates will be required to have at least five (5) years of land surveying experience with preference given to prior project managers and division managers,in addition to individual that have:
- Mapping knowledge and experience managing field crews and support personnel.
- Ability to understand construction plans and maps.
- Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and LDD, TDS, and Trimble Geomatics.
- BS Degree in Geomatics required.
- California Registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or (LSIT) required.
- A leader who sets the example; inspires and teaches others; strongly possesses technical knowledge; is highly professional; resourceful; and contributes to business development.
