Job Description


GeoDigital International, a US and Canadian based technology services company, is experiencing rapid growth and we are focused on developing exciting new airborne data capture technologies. 


We are currently interested in finding the right person to fill the position of a full-time Lidar Technician based in Lompoc CA, Victoria BC, Toronto or Ottawa ON. 


Position Description



  • As a key member of the GeoDigital team you will be responsible for adding value to the laser scanning 3D data feature coding department

  • Working with Bentley Microstation / TerraSolid Lidar processing software family and GeoDigital International custom software


  • Employment term: Full Time

  • Base of Operations: Lompoc CA, Victoria BC, Toronto or Ottawa ON

Education and Experience



  • The right candidate will have a university degree or college diploma with technical training in GIS/Remote Sensing and supporting technologies

  • You will have 2 or more years of applied work experience with proven geomatic skills. A solid technical foundation with data creation abilities utilizing sound data management techniques.

  • You should possess a multi-disciplinary background, and excel in being able to understand and solve client needs using GIS and other supporting technologies

Additional Skills



  • Solid understanding of geodetic datum and geographic projection transformation principles



  • Programming/scripting skills are an asset

  • Advanced computer experience: Proven ability in knowing how to handle bulk file operations (renaming, search-n-replace, re-project spatial data), understand and develop creative workarounds for the challenging issues of collaborative work.  Ability to adapt and quickly learn how to use new software tools and approaches to enable you to complete your work in efficient manner

  • Meticulous and patient personalities are preferred
