Project: Parsons has a long-term contract to provide facilities, construction, engineering and technical services for NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD. Through a combined effort with the facilities staff, Parsons provides quality design, construction, and IT support. Parsons is in need of a civil-structural engineer to join our team due to the volume of reconfiguration work needed to efficiently support the operations of this facility. Need: We are seeking a civil-structural engineer who has design experience for facilities undergoing modernization or rehabilitation and a desire to work in an on-site construction environment. The types of projects the successful candidate will engineer include office space, laboratories, clean rooms, underground utilities, U/G steam distribution, and a proposed thermal vacuum chamber. In this position, you must be able to perform structural load and design calculations. In addition, you will be assisting in developing civil and structural requirements, conducting field surveys, performing cost estimating tasks, and developing construction documents. In this role, excellent technical and communication skills, along with a familiarity the International Building Code, ASCE, and ISO Standards, will be instrumental to your success.
Requirements:
12+ years of related civil-structural engineering design and specification experience in an architectural/engineering and construction environment
Proven abilities in defining scope, budgets, and schedule for efficient and safe facility rehabilitation and modernization designs.
Proficiency in STADD III, Innercalc, and AutoCAD or Autodesk Building System is desirable
Minimum 4-year degree in civil engineering with structural engineering emphasis
Civil engineer registration
Must be a
